I fell deeply in love with all things fantasy, and spend the better parts of most of my days dreaming up and penning down fascinating stories and worlds. I try to focus on creating a complex whole by examining its multiple simple parts, and i apply that to my creative works.
I write fantasy novels with compelling characters. I love to write about ordinary people who do extraordinary things. The stories are usually fun and fast paced, but underneath I work to create a complex web of actions and reactions, growing a shared fantastic world with each new entry.
Which brings me to my second love, worldbuilding. Whether for its own sake, or in the service of the greater story, worldbuilding in my opinion is the life’s blood of any speculative work of fiction. Worldbuilding is about controlling a steady chain reaction. studying each step, and seeing how one step affects the next. It is about pulling together disparate spheres of knowledge, and merging them skilfully into one cohesive whole.
I combine all my loves in my youtube channel where I make videos explaining the steps I take when worldbuilding, analysing fantasy writing as a whole, and discuss my approach to writing.
